Four Tips for Hosting A Memorable Summer BBQ

It’s officially summer and that means it’s time for backyard BBQs!
Whether you are celebrating with your quarantine crew or following social distancing guidelines with friends you haven’t seen in a while, here are a few summer BBQ planning tips from Plackers:
Get creative with your decorating
Decorations can really add an extra flare – whether it be string lights, summer-themed plates or table-top decor. You don’t have to break the bank; your local party or dollar store is guaranteed to have a few themed items to put the finishing touch on your get-together.
Have a selection of games
Everyone loves some friendly competition! Set up a game of Cornhole, Spikeball or ring toss to keep your guests entertained. If you have younger kiddos in attendance, consider setting up a Slip ‘n Slide to keep them cool and happy.
Stick to a classic menu
Delicious food is one of the best parts of a summer BBQ. It is hard to argue against classic BBQ dishes – hamburgers, hot dogs, corn-on-the-cob and potato salad. Encourage your guests to bring a dish to pass so that there are plenty of options for even the pickiest of eaters.
Smile and have fun
Being the host or hostess can be a bit nerve-wracking so remember to relax and have fun. Take pictures to document your memories, and don’t forget to use a Plackers flosser to remove any pesky corn-on-the-cob pieces before flashing your grin!
